Mr. Amrik (pronounced “Umreek”) Singh Kaisth becomes the General Engineer for the Pipeline Safety Program. He initially joined the Public Service Commission on June 16, 2014 as a Pipeline Safety Engineer in the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE).
Mr. Kaisth immigrated to the United States in September 1972. He started his career as Assistant Resident Engineer in Roy F. Weston, Consulting Engineers in West Chester, PA and transitioned to Project Engineer. Upon leaving Roy F. Weston, he pursued his career as a Structural Engineer with Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco) in Washington, D.C. He transitioned in Pepco as Technical Specialist Engineer to Assistant Project Engineer to Senior Schedule Cost Analyst to Generation Analyst. After 20 years of service at Pepco, he took early retirement, then becoming a consultant for a year to Mirant Mid-Atlantic, Washington, D.C.
Mr. Kaisth earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Moti Lal Nehru Engineering College, Allahabad, UP, India in 1966. He also received his Professional Engineering (P.E) registration from the State of Pennsylvania in 1980 and renewed his P.E. until 2011.
Mr. Kaisth is actively involved in his community and gurdwara (church). He teaches Punjabi to youth at the church.
