
Milena Yordanova joined the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia on July 27, 2015 as an Attorney Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel. Milena is a native of Bulgaria and has lived mainly in the Washington, D.C. area.
Prior to joining the Commission, Milena served as an Associate Counsel at the Office of Enforcement for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). She handled a variety of responsibilities including ensuring compliance with the NERC electric reliability standards, conducting investigations and enforcement actions of large-scale blackouts, overseeing the implementation of NERC’s compliance directives and policy guidelines, and drafting proposed reliability standards. Prior to working at NERC, Milena worked as an editor for several energy publications, where she was responsible for coordinating the daily news coverage of the U.S. organized power markets, including the PJM Interconnection.
Milena has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from American University, and graduated cum laude from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
Milena also enjoys visiting comedy clubs, and reading funny books.
